Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team at Concentra. As an Onsite Athletic Trainer, you will play a vital role in promoting and maintaining health and wellbeing for our clients through exceptional patient care and injury prevention services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic first aid treatment for musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses, including range of motion and strength testing, reflex and sensory integrity assessment, and functional status evaluation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and refer injured associates to the appropriate clinicians for optimal care and management of work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Respond to onsite medical emergencies in accordance with established protocols and standing orders.
  • Assist in managing Workers' Compensation cases through claim capture and follow-up, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Collaborate with clients' Human Resources team and management to develop and implement return-to-work (RTW) job placement strategies.
  • Track and communicate musculoskeletal disorder (MSD)-related statistics to client stakeholders, highlighting areas for improvement and cost savings opportunities.
  • Manage pre-employment functional testing processes, including vision acuity testing, to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Coordinate injury prevention programs, ergonomic training, and evaluation to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Perform comprehensive ergonomic job analyses, including task analyses, risk factor identification, and quantification, to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Create job rotation plans for production areas and monitor compliance to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Develop and implement pre-shift preventative activity programs to promote employee health and wellbeing.
  • During rehabilitation, implement treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic exercise, modalities, and work conditioning as necessary, in accordance with state-specific regulations and physician standing orders.
  • Use innovation and creative solutions to design and implement interventions that promote employee health and wellbeing.
  • Administer drug and alcohol testing to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Promote personal health and wellbeing in the workplace through education and awareness programs.
  • Perform data analysis to measure direct and indirect costs of musculoskeletal disorders, identifying areas for improvement and cost savings opportunities.
  • Provide monthly and annual reports on rehab utilization, cost savings, and cost avoidance to stakeholders.
  • Complete administrative requirements, including patient files, invoices, monthly reports, budgets, expense, and outcome tools, in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training from an accredited program.
  • Current National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC) Athletic Trainer certification.
  • Active and current license to practice in the state of jurisdiction, if applicable.
  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge of athletic training services in an onsite setting.
  • Knowledge of kinesiology or ergonomic assessments.
