Job Title: Strategic Advisor to the Vice President

Join the World Bank Group as a Strategic Advisor to the Vice President, playing a critical role in managing the institution's financial resources and ensuring a healthy balance sheet. This position offers a unique opportunity to see the institution from a strategic and high-level perspective, reporting directly to the Vice President and Treasurer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily workflow for the VP, ensuring uninterrupted visibility and appropriate follow-through on actions, decisions, and commitments made by the VP.
  • Aid the VP on all matters relating to the functioning of the VPU and the VPU's work program.
  • Attend meetings with or on behalf of the VP, ensuring agenda setting in advance, minute taking, and appropriate follow-through.
  • Represent the VPU as needed in ad-hoc working groups/task forces.
  • Participate in the VPU Senior Leadership and Leadership Teams, nurturing relationships with VPU staff.
  • Work with the VPU leadership and HR business partner to ensure diversity and inclusion targets are met.
  • Coordinate and synthesize inputs from VPU departments on issues requiring VPU-level responses.
  • Prepare correspondence, memoranda, and internal and external presentations.
  • Assist with the planning of VPU knowledge forums.
  • Liaise with IFC Management Teams and with Advisers to the IFC and WBG management teams.
  • Maintain regular contact with a wide range of staff to stay abreast of emerging issues.
  • Coordinate with the Front Office team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks necessary for the smooth functioning of the Front Office.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • A deep understanding of IFC's balance sheet and business model.
  • Experience working with IFC / World Bank Group operations in the private sector or in capital market operations.
  • Commitment to the World Bank Group's and IFC's mission, strategy, and values.
  • Flawless integrity and highest ethical standards.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, people management skills, and client orientation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capability to quickly establish key networks and relationships.
