As a key player in a pioneering structural round timber manufacturing firm, you will leverage your estimating expertise to facilitate the transition of projects from initial inquiries to successful purchase agreements. Collaborating closely with the Sales team, you will generate precise and timely project estimates, quotes, and bids. Furthermore, the Lead Estimator will serve as a vital link between departments, enhancing pricing model methodologies and processes to align with company objectives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in the commercial construction field.
  • Proficient in interpreting and analyzing plans at various development stages to offer cost-effective solutions to project teams.
  • A commitment to guiding and establishing best practices within the Estimating Department.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a vital team member in a dynamic sales and fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for all project stakeholders.
  • Generate estimates, quotes, rough order magnitudes, and change orders in collaboration with project team members across various functional areas.
  • Maintain and update contact lists, sales data, and company reports within the CRM tool.
  • Organize and manage a digital filing system for Client and Project documentation.
  • Engage with third-party vendors for estimates, including requests, deadlines, and inquiries.
  • Utilize Bluebeam and Excel for estimating and modifying bid documents.

Daily Activities:

  • Manage workflow and set expectations regarding the estimating queue.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with Sales and Fabrication Departments.
  • Oversee material requirements and track procurement with vendors.
  • Provide estimating and quoting support for pipeline project takeoffs based on architectural plans and client specifications.
  • Assist in the development of Change Orders.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, both in-person and remote, to systematically address project updates.

Required Skills:

  • Experience working effectively within teams, demonstrating compassion, humor, and accountability.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities with a proven track record in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A preference for a fast-paced and varied work environment where adaptability and creativity are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience interacting with fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Following the initial period of full-time employment, a comprehensive benefits package will be offered, including paid holidays, accrued paid time off, and health benefits. This role will closely collaborate with the Project Management, Design, Sales Departments, as well as the VP of Operations and CEO.
