Psychology Specialists of Maine Externship Program

Our externship program at Psychology Specialists of Maine (PSM) is designed to provide advanced trainees with hands-on experience in outpatient adult psychotherapy in a group practice setting.

We are a private outpatient group practice providing behavioral healthcare for adults in individual, couple, and group psychotherapy in Portland and Brunswick, Maine.

Our psychologists are skilled scientist-practitioners with experience as clinicians, supervisors, and scholars in broad areas of specialization.

Training Opportunities
  • Gain experience working with a range of clients in individual and group psychotherapy
  • Be trained in multiple modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, humanistic psychotherapy, and dialectical behavior therapy
  • Work with a dynamic team of trainees and staff oriented towards continued growth and learning

This externship is best suited for trainees in their 3rd or 4th year of training.
