Sterile Processing Tech Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Tech to join our team at Prevea Health. As a Sterile Processing Tech, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards for decontamination, assembly, inspection, wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment for Surgical Services and Ancillary departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to established protocols.
  • Operate sterilization equipment and inspect instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
  • Maintain quality control by monitoring, reading, documenting, and interpreting all parameters for all types of sterilizers to ensure proper function.
  • Work closely with Operating Room staff to identify supply and equipment needs for scheduled procedures.
  • Correct instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma and/or GED.
  • 1-3 years of instrument processing or sterile processing experience, or previous work experience in the medical field (e.g., CNA, MA, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors.
  • Ability to form work/patient relationships with patients and peers.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands.
  • Fosters teamwork through effective written and verbal communication.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Working Conditions:
  • Noise - Occasionally.
Hearing Requirements:
  • Hears Whispers < 3 feet - Constantly.
  • Hears Whispers 3-8 feet - Constantly.
Vision Requirements:
  • Color Discrimination - Constantly.
