Renal Care Nurse RN

Weekly Compensation Range: $2040 to $2267
Position Overview:
- The Dialysis Nurse is responsible for delivering personalized nursing care to patients, utilizing established nursing principles.
- This role involves providing care to patients experiencing renal failure.
- Administer hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments with precision.
- Operate various medical equipment, requiring advanced technical skills to adjust settings and monitor patient data.
- Carefully access vascular access points to prevent complications such as clot formation.
- Reports directly to the Unit Supervisor and/or Medical Doctor.
- Prepare dialyzers and bloodlines for treatment.
- Document patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
- Set up and maintain dialysis equipment.
- Oversee the entire dialysis process from initiation to completion.
- Perform cannulation of patient access points.
- Administer prescribed medications, including thrombolytics.
- Maintain and dress both permanent and temporary catheters.
- Monitor patient conditions and adjust equipment as necessary, interpreting and recording vital information.
- Recognize and respond to abnormal dialysis reactions, notifying the appropriate medical personnel.
- Collect blood samples and perform basic interpretation of results.
- Educate patients and their families on managing their conditions, including post-treatment care, dietary needs, exercise, and medication administration.
- Manage medical supplies and ensure inventory is replenished.
- Provide pre- and post-treatment care to patients within the dialysis unit.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on the specific work environment.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Possess a current nursing license in good standing.
- At least one year of recent experience in dialysis nursing.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
