Job Description:

The City of Edmond, OK is seeking a dedicated and results-driven individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative I. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to Edmond residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls from Edmond utility customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting issues related to their accounts.
  • Work with customers to enter service requests, including on/off orders, transfers, and re-reads.
  • Provide accurate information regarding billing, account balances, meter reading schedules, and service rates.
  • Perform billing and quoting tasks for cash and non-cash deposits.
  • Collaborate with field representatives to coordinate service requests.
  • Utilize computer systems to accurately enter data for every call.
  • Be available to work during off-hours on a voluntary basis during emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • A high school degree or GED equivalent is required.
  • 12-18 months of related training and/or experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Call center experience is preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data entry.
  • A valid Oklahoma driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier are necessary.

  • Ability to learn and navigate new software quickly.
