About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled Mainframe Security Engineer to join The Charles Schwab Corporation's Cybersecurity Services team. As a key member of our Identity & Access Management department, you will play a critical role in safeguarding and enabling the firm to cultivate client trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on the mainframe security environment, Top Secret, with a focus on risk mitigation.
  • Oversee mainframe system security and system health, ensuring the integrity and reliability of our systems.
  • Develop and maintain system IDs, operating systems, and security products, as well as administer mainframe certificates.
  • Conduct audits and create reports on systems IDs and infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Investigate incidents and respond to RACF and Top Secret infrastructure issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to our operations.
  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to identify opportunities for process improvement and strategic growth.
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in mainframe security, with expertise in multiple operating systems, including Windows, Unix, and mainframe systems.
  • Strong analytical, technical, strategic, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Ability to lead small teams in technical tasks and anticipate technical issues that require resolution for success.
  • Strong customer service and written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and exceeding expectations.
