Job Overview

Position Summary:
This role is essential for the safe and effective functioning of the facility and its associated systems. The Production Operator II is responsible for conducting routine water and gas chemistry assessments, monitoring operational components, and providing updates on the facility's status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all safety protocols and practices
  • Operates the facility in accordance with relevant regulations and permits
  • Follows instructions from the Production Supervisor and/or Production Technician I
  • Manages the facility operations from outside the Control Room, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency to meet production targets
  • Implements changes in facility conditions and chemistry as directed
  • Operates the facility according to technical specifications
  • Responds effectively to both normal and emergency operational situations
  • Executes Start-Ups and Shut-Downs of all facility equipment, including Combustion Turbine/Generators, HRSGs, and Steam Turbine/Generators
  • Ensures the security of the facility
  • Monitors equipment to detect potential issues and takes preventive measures
  • Issues and clears Permits to Work and other safety documentation
  • Conducts routine inspections, collects samples, and documents findings
  • Follows established facility procedures
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment
  • Performs maintenance tasks as required or assigned
  • Completes additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Personal protective equipment is required for certain tasks (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high-voltage protective gear).
  • This position may require extended hours and varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a power generation facility or similar environment; experience in Combined Cycle is preferred
  • Completion of Production Technician II training
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
