Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Specialist to join our team at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers. As a key member of our oncology team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction of a physician.
  • Maintain knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures and complete all chemotherapy charge forms.
  • Assure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient needs, consulting treatment plans, and consulting physicians regarding dosage modifications.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines catheter devices.
  • Administer medications using correct techniques and document nursing assessments, patient teaching, and fluid and medication administration in patient charts.
  • Communicate with physicians and document relevant information in patient charts.
  • Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information in patient charts.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience, with oncology experience preferred.
