This role involves working as a part-time educator to provide personalized, semi-private, and group lessons focused on DJing, scratching, and music production.

As a DJ Instructor at Bach to Rock, you will adopt a holistic approach to music education, motivating students to showcase their musical talents at local events. Instructors specializing in DJing and Beat Making will nurture aspiring musicians who take pleasure in crafting original, high-quality compositions.

Bach to Rock offers a flexible part-time schedule in a vibrant atmosphere alongside fellow passionate musicians. We take care of marketing, scheduling, bookings, billing, and other administrative tasks, allowing you to concentrate on delivering exceptional instruction. Our instructors receive comprehensive curriculum resources, equipment, and dedicated spaces to ensure effective teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in mixing and scratching techniques using Bach to Rock's proprietary curriculum and methods.
  • Effectively manage classroom time to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students interested in various musical genres, including hip hop, pop, rock, house, and classic hits.
  • Prepare DJ students for live performances.
  • Offer administrative support as needed, including:
    • Setting up and dismantling equipment at the school and events.
    • Conducting minor repairs on school equipment.
    • Assisting with inventory management of equipment.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated understanding of DJ mixing, scratching, and beat-making concepts, with the ability to communicate these effectively to students.
  • Professional-level DJ skills.
  • Willingness to accept constructive feedback on teaching methods and adapt accordingly.
  • Physical presence at Bach to Rock for scheduled lessons is required.
  • Ability to engage effectively with children, teenagers, and adults.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with diverse personalities.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
