The UCLA Department of Statistics & Data Science is seeking a full-time Lecturer with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching statistics. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Statistics (or a closely related field) by the start of appointment, a demonstrated excellence in teaching, knowledge of and experience with R, experience in applied statistics, and a commitment to undergraduate teaching.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching statistics courses, developing curriculum, and mentoring students. They will also contribute to the department's research and service activities. The Lecturer will work closely with the department's faculty and staff to ensure the highest quality education for our students.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Statistics (or a closely related field) by the start of appointment, a demonstrated excellence in teaching, knowledge of and experience with R, experience in applied statistics, and a commitment to undergraduate teaching. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.
