Responsibilities include maintaining park equipment, managing landscaping efforts, overseeing irrigation systems, ensuring the upkeep of park facilities, caring for trees, and enhancing the overall visual appeal of the parks.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement irrigation systems, conducting inspections, audits, adjustments, and repairs to maximize efficiency and promote water conservation.
- Perform landscaping duties such as watering, weeding, mowing, pruning, fertilizing, and repairs to maintain park aesthetics.
- Execute planting programs for trees and shrubs, ensuring the health and visual quality of all park vegetation.
- Monitor and maintain automated sprinkler systems for optimal irrigation practices.
- Assist in the construction, installation, and repair of park irrigation systems.
- Evaluate the health and condition of park vegetation, identifying and addressing any diseases or pest issues.
- Oversee technical aspects of park operations, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance.
- Carry out seasonal tasks such as winterizing park facilities and equipment.
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all parks equipment.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations or concerns raised by citizens and property owners.
- Maintain daily and monthly activity reports to document work quality and efficiency.
- Provide professional training and seminars to staff to uphold high work standards.
- Participate in on-call duties for after-hours emergencies or customer service inquiries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One to three years of experience in parks and facility maintenance, including resource management.
- Preferred experience in irrigation systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of landscaping and maintenance principles.
- Proficient knowledge of equipment and materials utilized in park maintenance.
- Ability to foster effective working relationships.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving abilities with a focus on recommending effective solutions.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months.
- Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Availability for on-call duties during emergencies, including after hours.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
- Ability to lift various weights.
- Primarily outdoor work inspecting parks and related facilities.
- Proficiency in using office equipment and park maintenance tools.
- Compliance with safety regulations, including wearing protective equipment as required.
