Key Responsibilities:
As a Project Financial Specialist, you will be tasked with a variety of critical functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. The role requires adept multitasking capabilities and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Establishing new projects and opportunities in our financial systems, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
- Managing project setups, budget adjustments, and tracking modifications through to final validation.
- Reviewing contractual documents to ensure compliance with billing terms.
- Drafting agreements for subconsultants and monitoring budget adherence.
- Providing necessary documentation to internal teams.
- Preparing and processing client invoices in accordance with contract stipulations and specific client requirements.
- Monitoring unbilled amounts to ensure timely billing and processing of all projects.
- Maintaining organized project files and assisting with project reviews.
- Acting as the primary contact for office inquiries.
- Facilitating communication with the accounting team and project managers.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will bring:
- A minimum of three years of experience in an accounting role, with a four-year degree considered as a substitute for experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience interacting with various levels of personnel, including management and clients.
- A collaborative approach to problem-solving, with a commitment to learning and fostering inclusivity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in project accounting within the engineering or construction sectors.
- Familiarity with Deltek products.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically quiet, though it may involve occasional distractions typical of an open office setting. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities. The role may require occasional travel and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
