Position Summary
The Facility Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and maintenance of buildings and facilities, including heavy-duty tasks such as floor cleaning, carpet shampooing, wall washing, and waste removal.
- Communicate with management regarding necessary repairs or enhancements to building systems.
- Foster effective communication and collaborative relationships with clients, colleagues, supervisors, and management.
- Adhere to all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards set forth by the company and regulatory bodies.
- Exhibit flexibility and willingness to undertake various assigned tasks.
Specific Duties
- Maintain building floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming, while following proper procedures for chemical cleaners and equipment usage.
- Utilize ladders to dust and clean furniture, walls, machinery, and fixtures; also responsible for cleaning ceilings and polishing light fixtures.
- Move furniture and equipment to access cleaning areas, either manually or with hand trucks.
- Remove stains from carpets, drapes, walls, and floors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water with detergents or acids as per specifications.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as needed.
- Vacuum carpeted areas and apply spot cleaning treatments.
- Collect and dispose of trash regularly.
- Clean and sanitize surfaces in food areas, including tables and chairs.
- Polish furniture and fixtures to maintain appearance.
- Service and maintain restrooms, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supplies.
- Periodically clean overhead vents and dust blinds.
- Wash interior glass, windows, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Apply insecticides and fumigants to prevent pest infestations.
- Set up and arrange facilities for events, including decorations and furniture.
- Maintain a tidy janitor's closet and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Request necessary supplies and equipment for cleaning tasks.
- Monitor building security by locking doors after hours and checking for potential hazards.
- Drive vehicles as required for cleaning assignments.
- Perform basic repairs as needed.
- Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must meet all requirements for working in specific environments, including a comprehensive work history if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in customer service.
- One year of relevant work experience.
