Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Operations Leader to join our Prepared Foods team at Whole Foods Market - South Street. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and maintaining a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring a positive shopping experience, addressing customer concerns, and responding to customer feedback.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team by setting clear goals, providing coaching and feedback, and recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
  • Store Operations: Oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and visual presentation, to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment.
  • Sales Growth: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, including analyzing sales data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise, to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize waste.
  • Merchandising: Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to drive sales and improve customer engagement.
  • Visual Presentation: Ensure a visually appealing store environment by maintaining high standards of visual presentation, including signage, displays, and store fixtures.
  • Employee Development: Provide training and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge, and support their career growth.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and make data-driven decisions to drive performance improvement.
Requirements
  • 24+ months retail experience, including 12+ months of team leadership experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of products, buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
  • Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Product knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
  • Proficiency with operations-related applications.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
