Responsibilities:

* Room patients and collect pertinent information regarding their chief complaint, family history, social history, and medication reconciliation
* Complete necessary telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies, and/or other healthcare facilities
* Perform administrative tasks, including patient check-in/check-out, prior authorizations, scheduling appointments, verification of benefits, and coordination of referrals and testing
* Assist with procedures such as urine catheterizations, bladder scanning, suture or staple removal, application or removal of casts, and other diagnostic testing at the point of care
* Provide patient education and instructions regarding procedures, medications, or follow-up instructions
* Administer medications per provider order
* Maintain department-specific competencies related to point-of-care testing, equipment handling, and specialty training

Requirements:

* High School Diploma/Equivalent
* Basic Life Support (BLS) and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification
* Ability to operate office equipment and proficiency in basic computer skills
* Strong customer service skills, compassion, and caring in dealing with others
