About the Role:

Under the supervision of the Food Service Director, the Food Service Worker I will perform daily food service activities, assist in meal preparation, and serve meals to students and staff. The incumbent will also perform routine cleaning tasks in the school cafeteria, cooking kitchen, or production kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of school meals
  • Serve meals to students and staff
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks in the school cafeteria, cooking kitchen, or production kitchen

Requirements:

  • Commercial food service experience preferred
  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade
  • Serve Safe certification preferred

Physical Abilities:

  • Stand for extended periods
  • Operate kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment
  • Inspect documents and other written materials
  • Move, lift, push, and/or carry large or small objects weighing up to 31 pounds

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals
