Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team at Primoris Engineering. As a key member of our electrical engineering practice, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of electrical systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the electrical design of projects from conceptual phase to completion, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Develop and manage electrical equipment specifications, data sheets, and technical bid summaries.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
  • Participate in the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Manage and resolve change orders, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Apply expert knowledge of electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures to complex projects.
  • Lead quality reviews of production drawings and project-related data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct field inspections, measurements, and calculations to ensure electrical system integrity.
  • Prepare and present technical reports to clients and industry publications.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Participate in sales and marketing efforts to identify key pursuits and develop new business opportunities.
  • Lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve financial performance targets.
  • Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Report project performance and provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the electrical engineering practice.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
  • Comply with company and site safety policies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • PE license preferred.
  • 15-20 years' experience in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading the discipline design for projects and delegating work tasks to team members.
  • Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
