Part Time CDL Truck Delivery Specialist

About the JobWe are seeking an experienced Part Time CDL Truck Driver to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Part Time Driver, you will be responsible for delivering feed and feed ingredients to local customers in the area, ensuring accurate and timely pick up/deliveries in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Our drivers are home each night for supper, with all deliveries taking place during daytime hours.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who can drive for us on an as-needed basis throughout the year, with flexibility in hours or days depending on your schedule. If you are a motivated and safety-conscious driver with excellent customer service skills, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities- Ensure accurate and timely pick up/deliveries to our customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
- Assist with loading or unloading, as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service, treating customers professionally, greeting them promptly and courteously, and handling all customer concerns and elevating to leadership if required.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip reporting, proper load securement, and hours of service.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle(s) inside and out, and work environment.
- Complete and document daily maintenance inspections, ensuring proper equipment maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, following all safety policies, training, personal protective equipment procedures, and regulations, identifying and communicating workplace hazards and correcting or seeking assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Report all incidents (bodily or property), accidents, and traffic violations to supervisors immediately.
- Enroll in and complete mandatory CHS random drug and alcohol testing program and the Continuous Monitoring Program.
- Assist operational staff and perform other duties as needed or assigned, which may include intercompany related driving.
- Class A CDL.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to maintain or obtain a CDL and DOT medical card.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to work additional hours, be available for overnight stays, and occasional weekends to meet business demands.
- Valid Class A CDL preferred.
- Hazmat, Tanker, Air Brake endorsements preferred.
- Agriculture background preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Bulk liquid, pressure trailer, or forklift experience preferred.
