Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) at the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) is an integral member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of nursing care by the nursing staff.
The RN oversees and administers patient care for a designated group of patients and their families, employing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with all team members, including ancillary and support services.
The role of the RN encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, education, and supervision.Key Responsibilities:
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
- Assign and oversee patient care activities performed by team members.
- Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
- Report directly to senior unit management and engage in shared decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
1.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
2.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
3.
Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan.
4.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
