Job Summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a skilled CDL Driver to transport and deliver building materials to customer sites. The ideal candidate will have a Class A CDL license, a strong safety record, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive delivery vehicles and/or operate truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites.
  • Adhere to driver safety/compliance regulations, deliver undamaged goods on schedule, and provide professional service to customers.
  • Load or assist with loading and securing product, materials, or supplies inside delivery vehicles.
  • Deliver customer orders to specified delivery sites, maneuvering vehicles into loading or unloading positions.
  • Assist customers with unloading materials safely and accurately, taking all precautions to protect the product and customer property.
  • Verify order details, maintain logs of delivery duties, and check items against invoices to ensure order accuracy.
  • Act as a customer service liaison between the company and site customers, handling customer concerns and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles, performing routine safety checks to ensure vehicles comply with company guidelines.
  • Use handheld devices to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS, maintain hours of service logs, and perform pre/post trip inspection procedures.
  • Perform credit/product return pick-ups and related paperwork, and operate a forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and offload materials.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, 21+ years old, valid driver's license, and a Class A CDL license.
  • A minimum of 1 year of delivery driving experience, with 2 years of CDL driving experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, Class A CDL license, pass MVR report, obtain a DOT medical card, basic math & measurement skills, and ability to read and speak the English language.

Work Environment

The physical demands of this job include lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds frequently, and on occasion, lifting and carrying up to 200 pounds with assistance. The work environment is a production environment with temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
