We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Clinician III to join our team at UTMB Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care through nursing practices based on the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document the daily care of assigned patients.
- Identify nursing diagnoses/patient care needs and develop and individualize care plans, revising as needed.
- Execute physician's orders for all assigned patients, administer medications and treatments, and deliver culturally congruent and specialty-appropriate competent nursing care in accordance with UTMB's policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform routine technical procedures/skills in specialty areas assigned.
- Provide basic patient/family instruction and healthcare teaching based on identified learning needs.
- Plan, coordinate, and prioritize patient care activities according to skill level and work complexity.
- Delegates appropriately, seeking guidance when needed, and demonstrates effective time management skills.
- Identify patient safety concerns and report appropriately, addressing immediate safety concerns.
- Participate in ongoing self-evaluation of competency using Competency Based Orientation (CBO) tools and e-performance nursing appraisal.
- Current license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
- Current BLS required.
- Two years of clinical RN experience.
- Ability to manage unexpected or emergency situations commonly seen in assigned specialty population.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work to complete required assignments within a specified time frame.
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe environment and perform proper aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
