Arista Recovery is looking for a committed and knowledgeable Recovery Fitness Specialist who specializes in Customized Recovery Programs (CRP) and has a strong background in supporting individuals overcoming substance abuse challenges. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in rehabilitation from injuries, recovery following surgical procedures, and functional training methodologies tailored to the unique requirements of clients in recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service and foster a supportive environment for clients.
- Encourage and empower clients to maintain their motivation and sense of self-efficacy.
- Monitor client progress and modify training programs as necessary.
- Clarify and enforce safety protocols related to fitness activities and equipment usage.
- Instruct clients on proper breathing techniques during physical activities.
- Guide clients on correct exercise form and suggest alternative movements when needed.
- Actively listen to clients, ensuring understanding and addressing their concerns appropriately.
- Conduct thorough initial evaluations to assess clients' health status, objectives, and movement patterns.
- Employ a diverse range of training techniques, including strength training, cardiovascular workouts, flexibility routines, and balance exercises.
- Observe client behavior and communicate any significant changes to the treatment team.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical professionals, physical therapists, and counselors, to provide comprehensive care.
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in CRP and substance abuse recovery.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the training space after each session.
- Perform related duties as required.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Adhere to Standard Precautions by utilizing personal protective equipment as necessary.
Required Certifications:
- Certified Personal Trainer or equivalent qualifications in fields such as Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or Sports Medicine.
- CPR/AED Certification.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Certification in a relevant field, such as Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or Sports Medicine.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in personal training.
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and rehabilitation principles, particularly concerning substance abuse.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse clientele, including those in recovery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing clear guidance and encouragement.
- Experience working with specific populations, such as athletes, seniors, or individuals with chronic health conditions.
- Proficient in utilizing various exercise equipment and technology, including resistance bands, stability balls, and digital fitness tracking tools.
