NESC Staffing is seeking a highly skilled SMT Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining assembly processes, specifying and installing automated process equipment, and overseeing equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain assembly processes, including oven profiling and process chemical evaluation and selection.
  • Specify, install, train operators, and program all automated process equipment (SMT, AOI).
  • Oversee all equipment maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Generate assembly documentation, including process instructions and quality control procedures.
  • Perform design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews to identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Provide board panelization inputs and reviews of bare board manufacturing requirements.
  • Coordinate facility requirements, including layout and equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Continually improve assembly processes, implementing best practices and new technologies.
  • Develop and maintain standards and routings in the ERP system.
  • Implement engineering changes into production documentation as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related major or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in automated electronic assembly process engineering, including at least 1 year of programming SMT equipment.
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing environment in an engineering capacity.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of ISO9001, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards.
  • Hands-on knowledge of electro-mechanical manufacturing and assembly.
