Position Summary:
The Ford Transmission Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing various automotive systems, including the engine, transmission, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning. The technician will address service issues and perform necessary repairs and adjustments with professionalism and quality.
Compensation: $60.00 Flag Rate (based on experience)
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with transmission systems
- Reliable and able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Adaptable and enjoys tasks that require shifting priorities
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality
- At least 2 years of automotive experience in a dealership or independent repair shop
- A collaborative team player who interacts professionally with colleagues and management
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced and physically demanding setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality repairs on assigned tasks and conduct quality checks post-repair.
- Collaborate with Service Writers regarding necessary repairs and parts, informing management of any changes to repair orders.
- Document repair activities comprehensively, including causes, corrections, and specifications.
- Stay updated on the latest technical data and service procedures.
- Participate in required training sessions and share knowledge with peers.
- Maintain essential tools for job completion and ensure proper use of company equipment.
- Keep work areas clean and organized at all times.
- Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) following manufacturer guidelines, including road tests.
- Maintain a positive attitude in interactions with management and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a transmission automotive technician
- Experience with Ford transmissions is essential
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Authorized to work in the United States
