About the Role:

Join Carilion Clinic's team of dedicated healthcare professionals as a Speech-Language Pathologist in our Outpatient department.

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to provide patient-centered care to individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to patients, including speech, language, and swallowing therapy.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:

Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Experience: Experience in site-specific level of care preferred but not required. For Home Health positions, one year of clinical experience required.

Licensure/Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligible to complete clinical fellowship year (CFY); Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Other: Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills required. BLS-certified (from a Carilion-approved program) within six months of employment.
