About the Position

Lee's Summit Medical Center seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Orthopedic and Spine unit. This 16-bed department offers a patient-centered environment with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, catering to patients with orthopedic, neuro, and spine conditions.

As an Orthopedic and Spine nurse, you will work closely with patients, their families, and the orthopedic team to ensure clear client education and a seamless experience.

  • Our unit is Joint Commissioned Certified for Total Hip and Knee procedures.
  • Opportunities exist for certification in Orthopedics after 2 years and participation in surgeries with physicians.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Under the direction of the Director, Manager, or Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse coordinates and provides patient care, assuming individual responsibility and accountability for nursing services.
  2. The nurse provides care in accordance with hospital policies, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and the generic and unit structure standards.

Requirements

  • A.D.N or BSN degree is preferred.
  • A current MO RN license upon hire or a multistate RN license is required, with a MO RN license obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • BLS certification is required upon hire and maintained.
  • ACLS certification must be achieved within 6 months of hire.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification is needed within 90 days of hire and annually within the fiscal year, documenting a minimum of eight (8) hours of cerebrovascular (stroke) related continuing nursing education per fiscal year.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
