Position Overview:
The Orthopedic Surgeon plays a crucial role in the management of musculoskeletal disorders, providing both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients, including initial histories and physical examinations.
  2. Perform a variety of surgical procedures, both major and minor, with a focus on achieving optimal results.
  3. Manage outpatient caseload and participate in orthopedic call duties as required.
  4. Prescribe appropriate medications and order necessary diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies.
  5. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental meetings and peer reviews.
  6. Supervise clinical staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a valid medical degree and a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine. Board Certification or eligibility in orthopedic surgery is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in both verbal and written English.

Preferred Skills:
Experience in performing total joint surgical cases within the past year is highly desirable, along with expertise in hand, wrist, and elbow surgeries.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must meet specific physical standards, including the ability to lift and push within designated weight limits, and maintain coordination and depth perception during surgical procedures.

Patient Focus:
This role requires a deep understanding of the unique needs of patients, particularly veterans, ensuring sensitivity to age-related and culturally specific factors in care delivery.
