Role Responsibilities

The Senior Cost Analyst will play a crucial role in delivering financial insights for operational and commercial expenditures. Reporting directly to the Manager of Operations FP&A, this position will collaborate closely with key stakeholders in operations, commercial, and finance across our North American operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough analyses of costs related to various business functions.
  • Assessing cost trends and variances to pinpoint opportunities for cost savings and efficiency enhancements.
  • Formulating and executing cost-effective strategies to boost overall profitability.
  • Preparing and presenting detailed financial reports, including cost analysis, to senior management while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in collaboration with accounting teams.
  • Assisting in the development and oversight of budgets, providing insights to align with organizational objectives, and contributing to the forecasting process with precise, data-driven cost projections.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and working closely with cross-functional teams to streamline financial operations.
  • Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting complex financial data while maintaining databases for efficient data retrieval and reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in finance, preferably in cost or plant accounting.
  • Experience with SAP or ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, with strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
  • Experience in building productive relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to navigate diverse business and technology environments at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem identification and resolution.
  • Prior experience collaborating with executives or senior management is preferred.
