Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled CDL Driver to join our team at Atlanta Scales, Inc. in McDonough, GA. As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a commercial test truck to transport scale testing equipment and materials to customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving & Equipment Transport:
    • Safely operate a commercial test truck to transport scale testing equipment and materials to customer locations.
    • Follow all DOT regulations and maintain up-to-date driving logs and documentation.
    • Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Technician Support:
    • Assist technicians in setting up and calibrating industrial truck scales.
    • Help with the installation, maintenance, and repair of weighing systems in various industries (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, etc.).
    • Operate hoists, cranes, and other tools to position test weights and equipment.
    • Ensure work areas are clean and organized, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Customer Service:
    • Represent Atlanta Scales, Inc. professionally on-site, ensuring customer satisfaction with services provided.
    • Communicate effectively with clients and the service team, addressing any on-site concerns or needs.

Requirements:

  • Licensing & Certifications:
    • Valid CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record.
    • DOT Medical Card required.
  • Skills & Experience:
    • At least one year of experience driving commercial vehicles (our trucks are manual 10-13 speed Peterbilts).
    • Basic mechanical knowledge and willingness to learn technical skills related to scale calibration and repair.
    • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy weights (up to 50 lbs) and assist with heavy equipment.
    • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Work Environment:
    • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
    • Comfortable with physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
