Ophthalmology Specialist

The Guthrie Medical Group, a leading healthcare provider in the region, is seeking an experienced Ophthalmologist to join their team. With a strong focus on cataract surgery, this role offers a unique opportunity to work with a high-volume practice and contribute to the growth of the organization.
Guthrie has invested heavily in patient services, expanding its facilities and services to meet the needs of the community. As part of this effort, they have established a well-equipped operating room designed specifically for ophthalmology procedures. This state-of-the-art facility provides the ideal environment for surgeons to perform complex eye surgeries.
As a Cornea Specialist at Guthrie, you will be part of a dedicated team of support staff, including ophthalmic and diagnostic technicians. You will also have access to all diagnostics, lab services, and a vast multi-specialty group of providers throughout the organization. The role involves emergency call rotation, with one week out of every nine weeks spent on call.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will have opportunities for career development, including meeting time, home study options, and $3,400 annually for conference registration, certifications, and membership fees for specialty-specific medical societies. Teaching opportunities are also available through Guthrie's General Surgery Residency program.
Guthrie offers a competitive salary estimated at around $250,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as relocation expenses paid for qualified applicants and trailing spouse placement assistance. Physician mentoring and leadership training opportunities are also available.
