Simulation Software Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Simulation Software Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. As a key member of our software organization, you will design, develop, integrate, and test software for our end-user customers and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop software applications in a simulated training environment
  • Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of software products
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including systems engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers
  • Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems and improve system performance
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 2 years of related engineering experience, or a Master's degree in STEM
  • Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and at least one programming or scripting language, such as C, C++, or Python
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, Sonarqube, Fortify, or Coverity
  • Active DoD Secret or higher clearance and ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of C and C++ languages, including templates, memory storage, and compiler/linker
  • Experience with Joint Simulation Environment (JSE), Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), or High-Level Architecture (HLA)
  • Experience with Full-Motion Flight Training Systems or simulated threat environments such as AFSIM or NGTS
  • Ability to collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers to develop and maintain complex software systems
