Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Claremont Police Department. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and enforcing laws and ordinances in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crimes, and to enforce laws and ordinances.
  • Respond to emergency calls, such as accidents, disturbances, and crimes in progress.
  • Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects.
  • Make arrests, issue citations, and transport prisoners.
  • Direct traffic, provide crowd control, and assist with special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as serving warrants, subpoenas, and court documents.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid California driver's license.
  • Must have completed a POST-approved police academy training program.
  • Must have a good moral character and pass a background investigation.
  • Must be able to pass a physical fitness test and a psychological evaluation.
