Chemical Approvals Specialist

Job Summary:
Veolia North America is seeking a skilled Chemical Approvals Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving hazardous and non-hazardous materials for disposal in accordance with site capabilities, approved permits, and appropriate regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve materials for disposal, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Determine the acceptability or rejection of chemical components of materials utilizing analytical data, MSDS's, and facility information.
- Ensure that the approval process is in proper compliance with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Assign pricing codes to waste streams and parameters in laboratory testing of individual samples to verify material.
- Provide constructive input on existing and/or proposed policies, regulations, and other pertinent changes to expedite the approval process at the facility.
- Complete the approvals on a variety of materials and assist in the technical training for facility personnel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related discipline.
- 5 to 6 years in the hazardous waste industry or related work experience.
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA HAZWOPER Certification.
