Radiologic Special Procedures Technologist

Position Overview:

Under the guidance and oversight of a radiologist or physician, the individual will conduct specialized radiographic examinations. General diagnostic procedures may also be performed as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts radiographic diagnostic and interventional special procedures by adhering to and confirming the orders from referring providers. Utilizes independent judgment and applies learned techniques in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  2. Informs patients and their families about the procedures and/or treatments to be administered.
  3. Generates high-quality images and organizes them along with relevant patient information for prompt interpretation. Ensures accurate documentation is maintained.
  4. Executes and assesses equipment quality control measures. Demonstrates troubleshooting capabilities and alerts appropriate personnel to uphold equipment functionality.
  5. Ensures a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, strictly following radiation safety protocols.
  6. Takes responsibility for the ethical, legal, and professional obligations associated with radiology practice, including maintaining confidentiality of all work-related information.
  7. Facilitates the smooth operation of departmental workflows. Monitors and maintains sufficient inventory of supplies and materials to guarantee uninterrupted service.
  8. Performs additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist
  • Minimum of one year of relevant work experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
