Position Summary:

The HVAC/R Preventative Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in servicing light-commercial and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems along with their associated controls. This position also supports senior HVAC/R technicians during demanding tasks. Responsibilities include executing work assigned by the Service Manager and/or Service Coordinator, maintaining accurate records of all tasks performed, and effectively communicating work status with relevant parties. The technician may be entrusted with a fully equipped service vehicle, which is taken home overnight. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly role.

Compensation Range: USD $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. Key Responsibilities:
  • Operating company vehicles for travel to job sites and the branch office.
  • Maintaining and servicing light-commercial and commercial HVAC/R systems and controls.
  • Assisting senior technicians with inspections and repairs of HVAC/R systems.
  • Acquiring necessary parts and tools from local suppliers.
  • Coordinating and communicating effectively with team members on-site.
  • Updating job status to customers and property managers.
  • Keeping detailed and timely records of job progress to inform the office.
  • Adhering to schedules and tasks set by the Service Manager and Service Coordinator.
  • Following safety, quality, and productivity standards established by the Lead Technician.
  • Complying with service procedures outlined by customer service staff.
  • Participating in training and certification programs as required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • NATE ICE certification required.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential.
  • Experience in a construction environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with smartphones, computers, tablets, and related software is preferred.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical tasks for extended periods in various weather conditions is required.
  • Capability to engage in strenuous physical activities, including lifting up to 75 lbs, is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred.
  • Standard working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the possibility of working up to 50 hours per week as needed.
