We are seeking a talented Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Submarine Trainer Development Team, you will work closely with systems/software engineers and government cyber security teams to support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for large-scale System of Systems high-fidelity simulation, training, and analysis products for the US Navy.

About the Position:

This position requires US Citizenship and a DoD Secret Security clearance. You will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and ensuring artifacts for the RMF process are complete as we work towards cyber security accreditation and Authority to Operate (ATO) of Naval Training Systems. Your tasks will include generating ATO package documentation for submarine training systems, supporting cyber security scans, reviewing vulnerability documentation, and communicating findings to the engineering team.

  • Develop and maintain all required cyber security artifacts.
  • Perform cyber security scans and apply STIGs.
  • Work with system engineers and developers to assess cyber impacts on trainer system configurations and software.
  • Work with system engineers to develop cyber mitigation plans when necessary.
  • Work with system engineers to propose improvements to system cyber security posture.
  • Coordinate trainers team response to independent RMF team data-calls
Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Generating ATO package documentation for submarine training systems.
  • Supporting cyber security scans and applying STIGs.
  • Reviewing vulnerability documentation and communicating findings to the engineering team.
  • Working with system engineers and developers to assess cyber impacts on trainer system configurations and software.
  • Developing cyber mitigation plans and proposing improvements to system cyber security posture.
  • Coordinating trainers team response to independent RMF team data-calls
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have a strong background in cyber security, computer science, or a related field, along with relevant experience working with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Risk Management Framework (RMF), and Authority to Operate (ATO) process. Experience in developing cybersecurity documentation, including Plan of Actions & Milestones (POAM), is also essential. In addition, you must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Prior experience building ATO packages, active Security Clearance, current IAT Level I Certifications, Network+, Security+, Linux+, and experience with Linux operating system, virtualization technologies, Cisco switch/router configuration development and deployment are highly desirable skills.
