Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Pharmacist PRN to join our team at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret electronic and written medication orders to ensure clarity, accuracy, and safety.
  • Consult with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify orders and ensure appropriate medication use.
  • Supervise the preparation of patient medications, including controlled substances, IVs, and IV admixtures.
  • Direct and monitor the work of pharmacy technicians in proper packaging, labeling, and distribution of medications.
  • Participate in drug therapy monitoring, including evaluation of potential therapeutic duplication, drug-drug interactions, and other safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory levels, including perpetual inventory system and invoices.
  • Consult with physicians and nursing staff on matters related to medication selection, procurement, distribution, storage, and safe use.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and licensure in the State of Iowa.
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergent situations.
  • Basic typing skills and familiarity with computers and their functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
