Job Title: GC Chemist/Lab Specialist

Location: Texas City, TX area

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled GC Chemist/Lab Specialist to join our team at Labtopia, Inc. in the Texas City, TX area. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing routine analyses of production samples, troubleshooting problems with analyzers, and reviewing/updating current analytical methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine analyses for customers and production using Gas Chromatography equipment and accessories
  • Troubleshoot problems with analyzers that may affect production
  • Review and update current analytical methods to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Analyze gas samples using Gas Chromatography equipment and accessories
  • Manage special projects in support of operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial lab setting
  • Strong familiarity with Gas Chromatography principles and hardware
  • Strong familiarity with Gas tanks, valves, and accessories
  • Working knowledge of ASTM, UOP, and other standardized testing methods
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 17025 is a plus

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to move and connect/disconnect gas cylinders safely
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Work Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday day shift. Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed.

Compensation:

  • $70,000-$80,000 DOE
  • Due to the high-volume of applicants, only candidates who meet the requirements of the position will move through the interview process.
  • This position does not offer C2C or H1-B sponsorship.
  • This position is not eligible for per diem or relocation reimbursement.
