Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mammography Technologist to join our team at Jefferson Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing mammography exams, screenings, and diagnostic studies, as well as assisting during invasive procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate mammography equipment and perform various mammography-related examinations to produce high-quality radiograph images for clinical screening and diagnostic purposes.
  • Ensure successful procedures by ensuring appropriate patient and breast position, instructing patients throughout the procedure, and adjusting compression mechanisms and equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Provide staff and patient protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards, and serve as a department champion for safety and quality standards.
  • Document patient mammogram services by completing patient record charting, and obtain complete and accurate histories from patients.
  • Deliver care and support services to clients before, during, and after mammogram procedures, including explaining procedures and answering inquiries.
  • Ensure the operation of mammography equipment by completing quality assurance checks, verifying preventive maintenance completion, and making recommendations on new equipment and equipment modifications for the department.
  • Assist with scheduling to ensure proper coverage, training, and development of mammography staff, and perform other related technologist duties as directed by the supervisor or manager.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program or current validated Registry from ARRT in Radiology Technology (R).
  • 3 years of mammography experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Mammography certification required.
Conditions of Employment

As a condition of employment, you will be required to undergo a Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, a Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. You will not be allowed to commence working until all three checks are completed satisfactorily.

Covid vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson Health for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated, you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to your hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
