The East Bay Regional Park District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for providing law enforcement services to the public, enforcing laws and regulations, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for park visitors and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide uniformed patrol services by automobile, 4-wheel drive, ATV, motorcycle, boat, helicopter, horseback, or on foot.
  • Provide information to the public regarding park lands and facilities.
  • Assist park visitors and other park employees.
  • Contact citizens and employees regarding any matter concerning public safety and welfare.
  • Answer radio calls and self-initiate all types of police services.
  • Investigate traffic accidents and take injury reports.
  • Enforce all laws and ordinances, issuing warnings and citations, making arrests when necessary.
  • Investigate criminal offenses.
  • Write detailed and accurate reports.
  • Prepare cases for court and testify as necessary.
  • Perform rescue work and administer first aid when needed.
  • Report fires and provide traffic and crowd control.
  • Work days, nights, or holidays, and in adverse weather conditions.
  • Perform any other duties necessary and required for the safety and protection of the citizens and employees within the Regional Parks and other assigned patrol areas.
Requirements
  • Must meet current POST standards.
  • Must possess a valid State of California Peace Officer Standard and Training (POST) Basic Academy Certificate.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have successfully completed a minimum of 24 semester or 36 quarter units of college level courses.
  • Must have a current California or out-of-state driver's license.
  • Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors involving harm or threat of harm to persons or property within the past two years.
  • Must not have been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs within the last three years.
  • Must not have been convicted of domestic violence.
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony.
Working Conditions

The Police Officer will work in a fast-paced environment, providing law enforcement services to the public. The officer will be required to work varied shifts, including days, nights, and holidays, and in adverse weather conditions.
