Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team as a Float Staff member. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to our consumers, helping them to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities- Seek out opportunities for community and social integration, promoting independence and social skills.
- Help consumers plan and prepare for fun events and outings, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- Assist with self-care activities, such as dressing, bathing, and grooming, promoting physical and emotional well-being.
- Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring the health and safety of our consumers.
- Prepare and plan meals, promoting healthy eating habits and nutrition.
- Transport consumers to appointments and activities, ensuring safe and reliable transportation.
- Follow individual service plans, working collaboratively with our consumers and their support teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of our services.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Acceptable background character verification.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for consumer transport.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and bending.
- Basic English communication skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and internet navigation skills.
- Experience working with adults with disabilities.
- Work and training schedule obtained only from the Direct Support Coordinator.
- Availability to work every other weekend.
- Maintenance of a minimum of Secondary Drive Status.
- Willingness to travel to all operations within the region.
- Drive time paid after 30 minutes of travel from staff residence.
- Drive time reimbursement submitted monthly.
- Full-time employees must maintain a full-time work schedule.
- 2+ years of experience in residential services required.
- Frequent schedule changes or declining scheduled shifts may result in discharge.
- Option to receive paid time off before payday.
