Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments for surgical candidates presenting with both acute and chronic medical issues in an outpatient environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Analyze and interpret patient history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests to prepare patients for surgical procedures.
2. Provide telephonic consultations and follow-up communications; assess patient needs and make necessary recommendations or referrals.
3. Coordinate patient referrals to physicians or specialists as required.
4. Manage the evaluation and follow-up of patients seen in the outpatient setting.
5. Review preoperative laboratory results, EKGs, and imaging studies; promptly address any significant abnormalities and communicate with the attending surgeon as needed.
6. Generate preoperative orders based on patient requirements and departmental protocols.
7. Inform the attending surgeon of any patient-related issues that may impact the scheduled procedure.
8. Maintain expertise in the field through ongoing education and training.
9. Adhere to departmental regulations applicable to physician assistants.
10. Comply with hospital regulations regarding medical records, emergency protocols, and professional standards.
11. Participate in the training of students as requested.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Medium Work - Involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
COMPENSATION RANGE:
$95,000.00 - $150,000.00
The stated salary range is a good faith representation of the current potential base pay for successful candidates. It may be adjusted in the future based on various factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contractual agreements.
