Position Overview:
The Penn Hematology/Oncology team is currently seeking a part-time, first-shift Clinical Laboratory Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Conducting requested laboratory analyses on various specimen types, ensuring accurate documentation of laboratory results essential for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
You will be expected to comply with Penn Medicine's policies and procedures while adhering to all safety protocols. It is crucial to maintain up-to-date documentation required by various accreditation bodies and to uphold the confidentiality of patient health information.Qualifications:
We invite candidates who meet the following criteria:
- An Associate Degree in Medical Technology or a related field is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital laboratory setting is preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by ASCP or an equivalent body is preferred.
- A comprehensive understanding of various laboratory methodologies, quality assurance practices, and proficiency in PC and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is required.
