We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team at CommonSpirit Health. As a PACU Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition from the operating room to the recovery area.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients in the PACU, providing individualized care to meet their unique needs
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of patient vital signs, medication administration, and other relevant information
- Collaborate with the anesthesia team and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote patient recovery and well-being
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote understanding of post-operative care and recovery
- Current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS certification within 60 days of hire
- PALS certification within 60 days of hire
- May be willing to train those with at least 2 years of recent Progressive Care/Intermediate Care/Step-Down Unit experience
- National certification in area of specialty, including CCRN, CPAN, or CAPA
- 1-2 years of recent inpatient PACU (including Critical Care level acuity) experience within the last 3 years
- Prefer experience with all phases of post anesthesia care, including Preop, Phase 1, and Phase 2
- Prefer previous experience in the Charge and Preceptor roles
- Previous experience with starting IV's preferable for the 0530/0630 start time
- Experience with managing airways and airway emergencies, including laryngospasm, airway obstruction, stridor, and respiratory arrest
