Position Overview

The Ultrasound Technician plays a vital role in patient care by performing diagnostic imaging procedures. This position involves interacting with patients, explaining the ultrasound process, and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical diagnostic ultrasound examinations and routine invasive procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  • Utilize ultrasound machinery effectively to capture high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Maintain and organize ultrasound equipment and supplies to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Document patient records accurately and assist in scheduling ultrasound appointments to optimize patient flow.
QualificationsMinimum Education:
Completion of an accredited Ultrasonography program.
Required Skills:
Possess strong critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to work independently. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond appropriately to various situations.
Certifications:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.
Licensure:
Must hold a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification. Candidates may also be Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registered Vascular Technologists, or eligible for registration. New graduates are expected to complete the ARDMS registry within two years of employment.
