Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Townhouse - Detroit. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sushi Preparation: Prepare a variety of sushi and sashimi, including rolls, nigiri, and other Japanese dishes according to our standardized recipes.
  • Tool Operation: Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives and sushi-making equipment.
  • Food Safety: Maintain food safety and quality standards, ensuring consistency and care in every dish prepared.
  • Culinary Teamwork: Communicate with your Culinary Manager and service staff to ensure seamless execution and efficient workflow.
  • Menu Management: Accurately account for menu items, manage inventory, and maintain par levels to meet customer demands.
  • Guest Experience: Focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences by presenting high-quality dishes and providing attentive service.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a related culinary role.
  • Skill Set: Proficiency in sushi rolling, knife skills, fish butchery, rice cooking, and food handler certification.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Package

  • Hourly Rate: $18.00-$24.00 per hour based on experience.
