Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Transmission Line Electrical Superintendent to join our Power Delivery Services Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, high and medium voltage equipment, and transmission line construction.
Responsibilities- Coordinate electrical work projects on building sites
- Ensure high-quality installation of electrical portions of the project, including underground cabling, overhead lines, and substation construction
- Partner with the Sr. Superintendent in formwork selection, equipment sizing, and site utilization plan
- Supervise and ensure quality control of the work team, including self-performed and subcontracted work
- Manage the interface with personnel concerned with the connection of the project power grid to the existing distribution system
- Supervise the installation, splicing, and termination of fiber optic cables
- Attend project meetings and provide liaison between field engineers and contractors or craft workers
- Ensure correct implementation of the Mortenson Project Quality Plan (PQP) and assist in the development and updating of project control logs and QC documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 12 years of experience working with high and medium voltage equipment and cable, installation of transmission/collection lines, and substation construction
- Minimum 13 years of supervisory experience
- Proficiency in the installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of high and medium-voltage cables
- Knowledgeable about current injection, Hi-pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble, and other methods of cable and equipment testing
