Medical Assistant I Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Specialist

As a Medical Assistant I in our Orthopedic and Sports Medicine department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals. Under the direction of management and physician leadership, you will perform a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, including maintaining patient flow, assisting with medical procedures, and collaborating with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with patient care and medical procedures.
- Collaborate with clerical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal office operations.
- Interact with outside healthcare facilities and agencies to coordinate patient care and insurance.
- Maintain updated competencies and demonstrate ability to speak to leadership and accreditation bodies about process and workflow.
- Perform front office duties as needed, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or LPN, EMT, ER Tech, paramedic certification or equivalent and relevant experience required.
- Preferred: May consider a nursing student from an accredited registered or licensed practice nurse program after a clinical course of study has begun.
